About Me

I’m more colourful than this in real life:

b+w3

My name is Victoria. My friends call me Tory. You can be my friend if you want, although there is an entrance exam. Don’t worry, there’s only one question. I’ll give you the answer. It’s “Here, have some cake.”

It doesn’t matter what the question is.

I always wanted to be a writer when I grew up. Lately it’s occurred to me that the growing up part might never happen so I’ve decided to stop waiting for it. In 2014 I decided to start really trying to “be a writer”, a decision that alternately fills me with joy and existential dread.

So far, I’ve written The Rose and the Mask, a retelling of Beauty and the Beast set in 18th century Venice, and its sequel, The Murano Glass Slipper, which retells Cinderella.

When I’m not writing, you can generally find me reading, watching TV, playing videogames or, against my better judgement, interacting socially with fellow humans and having life experiences.

You can find my marginally more professional website, where I use CAPS LOCK less, at VictoriaLeybourne.com.
