2016 Week Nineteen: COVERED IN LEMURS

Nothing much happened to me this week.

HAHA NO NOT REALLY LOOK HOW MANY LEMURS I MET

Me and Carl sitting on a rock feeding ring-tailed lemurs. We each have one on our laps and there's another one by Carl's elbow.

If you look closely you’ll notice that the one in the Black Sabbath T-shirt is actually not a lemur.

Carl got me a “Zookeeper for the Day” experience for my birthday and this week we actually did it and it was awesome. Or, as I squeaked while covered in lemurs (there were more of them before the picture was taken. I took at least one tail to the face): “THIS IS MY FAVOURITE THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED!!!

When I was a kid I was obsessed with the TV show Monkey Business (which became Monkey Life), which is about a huge ape and monkey sanctuary called Monkey World. I really wanted to work with primates. I like how they’re like people only simpler and furrier. Obviously I ended up not doing that – I’m not really sure why. I guess I just wasn’t so passionate about it by the time I started making life choices. But I LOVE going to the zoo and just watching all the animals, especially the primates, and I’ve always wanted to get up close to them like this. It was a good present, is what I’m saying. ❤

In other news…

I was going to tell you about the novel-planning I’ve been doing but it turns out that I’m bored with talking about it so here’s a hilarious sketch I saw earlier.

  1. OK, I’m officially jealous!

I’m going to have to go get climbed on by kitty bunnies (AKA chinchillas) just to make myself feel better. It won’t be as cool as being climbed on by lemurs, but it’s as close as I’m going to get any time soon, so it will have to do.

Talk to me. If you want. A comfortable silence is cool too.
